I have a Metolius Down To Earth pad that works really well - info covered in
the Backpacker Gear Guide - 3 layers of different density foam in a nylon
cover. Have slept comfortably on sun-baked-horse-hoofprinted mud, concrete,
wood floors, oyster shells, rocks, etc... Been looking around for a bed of
nails to try it on, but no luck with that one yet...<g>
