ooh, ooh  gotta speak up here:

the JMT runs from happy valley (in yosemite valley) to whitney, co-incident
with the PCT for almost its entire length except for a few miles around
devils postpile, and the southern end up to whitney.

it is the TAHOE-YOSEMITE TRAIL (TYT) that runs from tuolumne meadows to
meeks bay on lake tahoe.  it is coincident with the PCT at the northern end
(desolation wilderness) and southern end (yosemite), but between these
areas it runs "parallel" to the PCT, just west of the sierra crest.  very
different than the PCT even tho they are very close.

JMT - 211 miles
TYT - 180 miles
