[at-l] Easiest approach to Springer

I am planning (actually WANTING) to do a thru-hike in 1998 (for the
anniversary), but will probably have to wait until 99...
In reading and looking over some books and guides...there seems to be
three approaches to Springer Mountain....
1) The Falls Trail
2) Forest Service Road 42 to the AT and hiking back up about a mile
3) Benton McKay trail (also off FSR 42)
The falls trail seems to be the hardest (almost like it takes a day
just for that portion!) For the thruhikers (and for current ones,
if you know), how did you get to Springer? Assuming of course that
you went from South to North!!
Jeff
PS - Anyone do a round trip? S to N (wait a couple of weeks for
restock) then N to S?
