Re: [at-l] In need of a story

My coldest night in a sleeping bag was not on the AT but
during basic training. We bivouacked at -30

coldest night on the AT was a weekend with the scouts. Lows
were about 15f. Urine froze upon hitting the ground. I had packed my pack on
Thursday and did not realize that the garage flooded on Friday and had dried
out by Saturday AM when I grabbed my pack. The water soaked my sleeping bag
which was rolled on top of the pack without a stuff bag. Everything else
was dry. I spent that night wearing every bit of clothes I had, huddled in the
corner of the shelter wrapped in my poncho. although not my coldest night
according to the thermometer, it was my most uncomfortable.

According to the thermometer in my car it was 100 f at 5 PM yesterday
