[at-l] insect repellant

I just heard yesterday on a talk radio show about a concotion of vanilla
and water  repelling gnats (black flies).  I am going to try it out this
weekend to see if it works.  It smells deliciously good, too.  Nothing I've
ever found repels gnats,  even deet.  They are the most persistant,
blood-thirsty creatures.  Fires keep them away and the smell of smoke
repels them for awhile but I am anxious to try the vanilla recipe.
