  Congratulations!  (There aren't too many places where you're going to
get applause for being unemployed, are there?)

  I gave my notice about 3 weeks ago.  It kinda stinks being a short-timer
for so long.  I've still got until March 14 before I actually quit, and
I know exact;y what you're talking about.  I've been the most 
unproductive slug on the face of the earth recently.  No concentration
whatsoever.  I'm sure I'll be even more useless during my last week of
work.

  Fortunately I have a couple of weeks off before I start my hike, so
I'll be able to devote all that time to last minute preparations.

  29 days to Springer!
