[at-l] School Hiking Unit
I am a seventh grade teacher in Farmington, Maine. Every spring I do
a social studies unit on the Appalachian Trail and hiking in general.
This year I would like to set up a network of AT long distance hikers
who would be willing to answer questions about their hiking
experiences. I will start this unit in early May. The kids would
e-mail you to introduce themselves and ask some preliminary
questions. You would then e-mail back your responses and introduce
yourself. The kids then would take it upon themselves to continue
their correspondence as often as you decide. The unit culminates with
an actual day hike on a section of the AT in our area(Horns Pond, The
Crockers, Sugarloaf, The Bigelows etc..). If you would be willing to
