[at-l] Hiking the AT in 2000

Hello everyone,
	I'm a sophomore in colege at Purdue University.  A friend and I 
are planning on hiking the AT beginning March 1, 2000.  We're looking
for
any and all information about the trail and long hikes in general.  
Any information about the trail, equipment, clothing, shelters, rest
spots, etc. would be greatly appreciated.  
	We've both done some hiking, in all seasons, so we have some 
experience.  However, we've never been out for more than a week at a
time and an adventure such as the AT requires a lot of planning, so
that's
