I was thinking about using tincture of iodine that's in my first aid
kit as an emergency backup for water purification, in case the Pur
filter clogs up.  I seem to remember reading somewhere (this list?)
using 5 drops per quart, 10 drops if very cold or cloudy water, and
wait for 30 minutes.  Does this sound about right?  Can I use the 2%
iodine avail. at the drugstore for this dual purpose?  (There's alcohol
in the iodine too, but it doesn't say what kind.)
