Well, just to chime in...I started April 3 from Springer and got snowed in at
Tray Mountain on April 8. I had a lot of freezing weather all through the
Smokies, but only snow flurries. I don't remember the exact date I got out of
the Smokies, but I descended to the Little Pigeon River and full-blown spring.
Bottom line is: in that area, at that time of year ANYTHING could happen.
