I'm buying a tent... One of those big honkin' tents that sleeps 400 people.

Ok, not 400, but 8 (which really means 6) and it's the Coleman Rocky
Springs.
Has anyone heard of this? It's $149, has three rooms and a porch. The only
way I can get my city folk friends out with me is if they don't have to do
anything or bring anything... You know? Their only requirement is to SHOW
UP.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any opinions about this tent or
something
similar in size and price.

So, "The Boy" is carrying that house out on the trail? Perhaps you could
get it to where it is going to be set up by splitting the parts among those who
will be benefiting from its use. One person take some poles, another the
canvas, another the rope or line, another the stakes, etc., and voila! There it
is!

If people don't bring their own equipment they don't deserve shelter. Of
course, if you really want those people with you then your intentions MAY get
them out on the trail but I suspect that they will wimp out on you and then you
will only have an emergency shelter for when the next hurricane comes
roaring through Florida.
