"Hmm - I didn't remember 66 1/2 days but I'll take your word for it. But=20
that would mean he was hiking about a 30 mpd average. If you wanta put him=
=20
down for what he did, you need to be honest enough to tell us if you'd pass=
=20
up that kind of support if you were doing that kind of mileage. And then=20
there's the question of whether you would or could do that kind of mileage.
And then there's the question as to what support you had on your hike."

Wow...if you'll reread my original comment you'll see that nowhere did I cr=
iticize WD's hike or how he did it. I was merely correcting a factual erro=
r you made in your post (which was your attempt to correct an error TJ made=
in his original post) when you stated that his first hike was not van supp=
orted. All I did was to clarify the discussion and point out that WD was s=
upported by his father for about a month of his 66 1/2 day hike.

Back to the stats. He averaged 30.6 miles per day while hiking an average =
of 15 1/3 hours per day. And to answer your questions; No, I couldn't hike=
that kind of mileage day in and day out even if supported half way....and =
more importantly...nor would I want to.
