I don't think this can be the same Antlers Campsite in the 100 mile
wilderness. When I camped there in October there was no cabin. It
was that way 5 years ago when I hiked from Monson to K. The Antlers
I visited is maintained by employees of LL Bean. Anyone know if
there are two places with the same name on Jo Mary Lake?
-----------------
Not the same place - just what the current lease owners are calling their
cabins. Antlers Campsite is located on the grounds of the old sporting camp that
has pretty much decayed away. If you look around you'll see insulators on some
of the trees, iron bits sticking out of the ground, a dump site, and the
remains of some buildings where the AT enters from the south. If this one has a
view of Katahdin, it's probably just north of the Jo-Mary Campground.
