There is an excellent Women Hiker list and she can get lots of information 
there and also may be able to find some other women to hike with.  It is 
great that she has such a concerned father.  If she is interested in the 
Women Hiker list she can e-mail me at athummingbird@dnet.net and I will send 
her the information.

Of course, this group is great, but the WH group is geared to problems that 
women alone may encounter along the trail.
