Subject: [at-l] Questions on sections in Ga.

I have a couple of questions about ascents on the Ga. Section of the AT.

Tesnatee Gap to Cowrock Mtn?

**Uphill - but short.

Addis Gap to Kelly Knob?

**Long, straight, and uphill.

Unicoi Gap to Rocky Mountain?

**Longer, windier, and uphill.

Are any of them switchbacks? What are these ascents like?

**Not many switchbacks. The climbs out of Tesnatee Gap is a little steep.

Shelly and I were perusing maps, and we were just hoping that someone could
tell us about the terrain and the type of ascent. They look like they are
straight up. Thanks for any help.

**My 11 yr-olds made the hike from Trey to Dicks Creek - including the long
ascent up Kelly Knob. My 13 yr-olds made the ascent from Unicoi Gap to Trey
w/o much problem. Its not easy, but its definitely do-able.
