[at-l] In GA for a fleeting passage of time

I won't tell Enterprise...of course if the car has a hidden GPS unit they already know.

Couple comments about the approach trai.

1. Its not nearly as difficult as its reputation. However, it is 8.8 miles to Springer and you described yourself as a slow hiker. Is this a one day hike? No problem making Springer but if you need to go Amicalola-Springer-Amicalola in one day that would be very, very difficult and you would probably have to turn around before you make Springer.

2. The toughest part of the approach trail is the first mile to the top of falls. You can always start from there.

3. May want to consider hiking Amicalola-Hike Inn-Amicalola if you need a "destination" to hike to.

4. If you absolutly want to see Springer then best bet would be to take Forest Service Road 42 to where it intersects the trail 0.9 miles N of Springer. On your road map that is near Ellijay. I can post specific directions if you need them.
