The  1998  map and trail book show an "Ashfield Road" crossing the AT,
8.1  miles  trail  north of Route 309. It is described as a dirt road,
passable  by  auto,  with parking under power lines. Anyone have any recent
info on this road and the parking situation? Is it really passable w/o
a 4WD?
