Check thsi out - since I can't chase this one, I chase the real data -
not the breathless hype on TV. Here is the URL for a western Bahamas
databuoy where Frances' eye passed over - having been in an eye myself,
it is pretty neat to see the wind speeds and directions go around the
clock 360 degrees over a half-day here - you can also click around and
pull up graphs of wind speed, direction, temp, etc. Here is the link:

Here is another buoy, almost due north about 140 miles out at sea - note
the almost continuous 25 to 30 foot wave heights over an entire day or
more. This storm will not be a big killer, but boy does she have some
girth!
