LOL..  I'll have to remember that one!

I arrived in Boiling Springs flat broke and there was no money waiting at the 
PO as expected.  A couple guys were building an addition next to the ATC and 
I went over and asked if they needed any help for a couple hours.  One guy 
said they were all set, but reached in his wallet, gave me $6 and told me not to 
spend it on alcohol.

As trail magic would have it, I found a ride home to MA leaving the very next 
day and was working a few days later until I saved enough to get back on the 
trail.
