Barb, Ryan and I spent the day at Tray Gap feasting with Art Cloutman
and quite a few other hikers.  Art had been telling hikers about the
feast for days, and the results were wonderful.  All the many hikers
were happy and glad to be out there.  Coosa, SLG, Hummingbird, Dutch
Treat, and Moose came along to celebrate the hikers.  The hikers were
universally thankful, but it is hard to explain to them that we are
really the grateful ones.  Seeing their joy and wonder is very
worthwhile...

Art is doing fantastically and bids everyone a heartfelt hello.  He
hiked into Tray Gap with a few people that have hiked every step with
him.  His good hiking friend John is now on his way back to
Connecticut.  A couple of others that were with him hiked out today
before he did.  They may be in his vicinity for a few more days, but
they have been iching to go go go.  Art headed for Tray Gap shelter
tonight, then Deep Gap shelter tommorrow, then the Blueberry Patch on
Monday.  I wish him well on his long journey...
