With the $300.00 rebate you could buy a good Sleeping Bag, or a Titanium
Cookset and good dishes, or a good GPS so you won't get lost, or a good TV so the
"boredom" of the trail can be alleviated, or hire a homeless person to carry
your pack for you, or buy a good gun to protect yourself with, or buy a set of
Leki Hiking sticks, or buy a Pocket Pal to play with and record your journal,
or buy a Palm style PDA to hold recipes to cook on the AT, or to purchase a
Lite weight outfit to hike with, or to purchase the complete AT mapset with
sectional books and Bill Bryson's book to use as a guide when The Thru-Hiker's
Handbook leaves out essential information, or to buy Trail Angel Industries along
the Gaps, or to take a vacation from the AT, or to purchase a good tent or
Hammock, or to use at Traildays or at The Gathering or at one of the RUCKS, or
to buy a good digital camera to record the trek for friends and family back
home. Oh, the possibilities are endless!
