Hey ORR,
Sorry to confuse you! I was just wondering if Tin Man did any tests. I use
the yellow bottle Heet which is found most often, and burns cleaner then the
red bottled iso-heet.
It can usually be found in most gas station/convienence, grocery, hardware,
auto parts or walmarts/dept. stores. I would imagine hostels and trail
providers that carry fuel offer gallon containers of denatured alcohol, which is
thought by some to work best. In a pinch I would imagine 90% rubbing alcohol
would also work.
Since the CDT was the 1st time I used an alcohol stove on a long hike I was
surprised and fortunate to find it in every single town I visited. A couple
tabs of Esbit would work well as a back-up. Just flip the alcohol stove over
and use the bottom surface.
