Yes, I do it all the time.  (Sit up, not use a TravelMate.)

There is a rather cool trick in the Hennessy, if you care to try it.  You
can actually sit at the edge of the entrance slit with your legs folded and
straddle it with your butt.

Just watch where you step when you get out.
