[at-l] Letterboxing

Geocaching is a game which involves the use of a GPS to navigate to a set of given coordinates, whereupon with a little of additional hunting you will find a hidden cache. The caches often contain items that you can trade (take something, leave something) and a logbook where you record your triumph. See www.geocaching.com for more info.

Letterboxing is similar but traditionally involves a set of clues to reach a hidden cache, instead of a GPS. Upon finding the letterbox you typically don't trade items but instead usually use your own personal stamp to mark your find in the letterbox log and similarly use the unique letterbox stamp to record the find in your own logbook. See www.letterboxing.org for more info.

Geocaching, btw, often employs many similar aspects with the GPS coordinates merely directing you to a starting point whereupon instead of finding a cache you merely find clues for reaching the cache (or often a series of additional clues before reaching a final cache). There are many variations.
