Back when my family grew tobacco, the traditional wisdom was never to let tomatoes and tobacco meet -- they "caught stuff from each other. We'd wash and change clothes before going from the fields to the garden, or form garden to tobacco field. Tending tomatoes was the only time I ever saw my most men w/o a chaw.
