[at-l] Why I want to hike the AT

I love backpacking. but I find it hard to get out of the house and go. the
planning is to complex and the driving to and from the trail head(I hate
driving places, I love driving nowhere but hate driving to a place)

the longer the hike the less the planning around "work", just plain less
planning.. once you get out it is all free and unplanned. the thruhike is
the ultimate long hike. so long you can begin and seemingly not end and
begin to forget all that non-important other stuff in life.

I am not a huge fan of weekend trips.. but I enjoy them once in a while. I
like the freedom of mind longer hikes give you.

not often in my home do I seem to have the time to listen to crickets or
watch the moon rise. and I never have time to watch the sun rise and burn
off fog. I am to busy with "life"

personally I think for me to enjoy going out on more weekend trips I need to
find hiking food I like.
