[at-l] Hammock Camping on the Appalachian Trail

I switched to a hammock after the Smokies, so I can't say for there, but as others have said, Smokies require shelter use when available.  I have used the hammock since, along the N.C./TN border and it worked out quite well.  As things look now, I'll be hammock hanging this weekend between Nolichucky and Carver's Gap --- can't wait!!!
