[at-l] The Kennebec Ferry Contract

*** Which is exactly what I suspected. The lesson being that NPS
strength and backing comes at the cost of importing larger national park concerns
and methods into the Trail.

I don't think it's appropriate to use an MATC issue as an excuse to
go after Weary or try to diminish his reputation. It's obvious this is being
overblown by certain members in order to get back for AT philosophy beliefs
Weary may have expressed. With land acquisitions costing up to 4 million, the 6
thousand spent on the ferry contract is relative peanuts in the scope of things.

I can imagine what would have happened if a "Rat Pack" got to the row
boats left at the Kennebec on a good day... ;-)
