Well, given that the point of the term paper was learning about the war,
I feel for the girl.  If I had been sent to the library to find
materials on
a subject I knew nothing about and the librarian was disgusted with
me for not knowing, I'd be pretty PO'd.

ObAT:  Don't see many Japanese thru-hikers, do ya?  I met a Japanese
guy who was touring Yosemite on his bicycle once, though.  Cool guy.
We invited him to share our campsite since the place was booked up.
