[at-l] RE: prescription meds in the mail

What works for me was started by my Canadian healthcare providers and
adopted by my American providers. A week worth's of meds are separate
packaged with label. Then a single days worth is put in a zip-loc with a
label of its contents. I end up with seven bags vacuum packed. I usually
carry a week supply more that I think I should need. I have scripts and
emergency treatment info for all meds laser printed on a tyvek type paper.
I have never had an IV bag leak, meds spoil or stolen. The only problem was
when two girl scout leaders asked me to leave a shelter because I was up
setting the girls while self-infusiing. Hell, the girls were asking
questions, helped with the tape and pick up the packaging. Only the leaders
were wigging out. Hey don't let your meds keep you from going.

Another way of dealing with this is to have your pharmacist
provide copies of the bottle labels, photocopy them, laminate
the copy, and keep with your ID and 3X5 card regarding your
medical information, allergies and phone numbers.
