LOL... hiking around in the dark when you're lost isn't very wise.  Don't get
me wrong maps may come in handy on the A,T if you know how to use them.
Everyone should have a general idea of where they are and how to get back
from which they came.

Not including meatheads that venture into the Whites unprepared and white
outs, has anyone got truly lost on the AT for more than a hour or two with or
without maps?
