Yes, The US does have a large fraction of the world's best bag makers, but
that doesn't make it rational to shun bags just because they're made outside
of the US. WM is a world-class company. FF has a very good reputation
also. But please don't put TNF in the same category as REI, which is the
Wal-Mart of the outdoor world, and is as different from TNF as night is from
day. Same goes for Marmot, Mont-bell, Patagonia and other world-class
companies that out-source production to the far-east and Indochina. The
Cat's Meow from TNF is a fabulous bag. I've bought a lot of superb technical
clothes over the years from TNF and recently a gore-tex bivy that has over
200 nights on it already. All made in China. All made with meticulous
attention to detail.
