[at-l] re: dumbest things

Dumb things I have brought along as recently as last year

1. half a toothbrush
2. a guidebook of the NM CDT with its fuzzy stupid maps that I attempted to
navigate with instead of using 'real' maps like USGS Quads.
3. I brought along raingear for the High Rockies that looked suspiciously
like an 8x10 sil-tarp.
4. my cantankerous and way-to-heavy Princeton-tec headlamp with a cracked
case and rusty innards because I was too cheap to spring for a newer LED
model.
5. a cooking grate for use in Colorado and Wyoming at a time when there were
state-wide fire bans in place. Even though it was scary-dry out on the
trail, I hauled it around for three weeks hoping for rain or stupidity
before I finally realized I wasn't going to have any campfires. D-D-DUMB. I
ditched it in a recycle bin and went into instant shock at how long it took
me to unload it. I never did have a campfire, not in 8 weeks of walking.
