Ouch! boy am I glad that NC only requires 300, and there is no extra
cost - the NCDOT simply gets the first $10.00 of whatever amount the
sponsoring organization places on the tag sales - a common number is
$30.00, which means each tag sale raises $20.00 for the organization,
$10.00 for NCDOT for its trouble, plus you also have to pay the standard
$20.00 - $21.00 registration fee, so the total specialty tag cost is
usually $50.00 here in NC . . .
