My 30 degree bag is a Marmot Arroyo, which I consider very good quaility.
It weighs
in at 1 lb. 14 oz. which was a very strong feature.

Several things helped keep me warmer: A silk bag liner which added close to
10 degrees
of warmth, and on really hot nights just the liner was adequate.
Additionally it was much
warmer in the tent than in a shelter.

In April in NY we had a few 20 degree nights but in the tent plus the liner
I was fine.

In June in NY you will have no problem whatsoever, IMHO. In fact, until you
get to the Whites,
you would have no problem with a 30 degree bag. Read some thru-hiker
journals. They generally
send home their winter stuff when they get to Virginia, and then get it back
when the get to Hanover NH.
The Mid-Atlantic region after April or May should be fine.
