Rocks, If I am not mistaken you can't shoot that close to a road in NH.

Seriously, I think that the point of the police officer quoted was that if
you are otherwise in a legal hunting area, then there are no special
regulations against hunting on the Trail.   I think that's an important
message to get out there.

The two articles posted by OB are well worth reading. I am not sure what the
factual errors were (if any), but IMHO they were excellent articles, and far
better than what one usually reads so soon after a tragedy like this.
Thanks to OB and Jack both for posting that contact information at the
hospital.  While I'd have sent a card anyway, the girl's attitude was a
clincher.  I wonder if she realizes that we will be talking about her for
years (and years)to come.
