Re[2]: [at-l] Staying on Topic - LONG

"..."This list" didn't kick off advocacy as a topic. What happened was that a
few people couldn't manage to discuss things in a rational manner. They decided
that a "TA" list was more a more appropriate forum for their scoldings,
squabblings, rants, and flame wars." reports TJ.

And he is more right than he thinks. Rn R. occasionally got carried away with
his love of the trail and wildness, but an honest review will reveal that most
of the "scoldings, squabblings, rants, and flame wars." came from the list "old
timers."

The same thing is happening now. This thread was not started by the "advocates."
We are simply responding to the comments of others. It began with a polite
request and complaint about "off topic" chatter drowning out trail discussion
and evolved from there to list veterans reopening old advocacy wounds.
