Coffee on the trail, now there is a subject of interest. I'm a true coffee =
connoisseur. I use a very cheap ($ 8) aluminum peculator also. It brews 9 c=
ups. It can be purchased from Coleman. It uses an aluminum bail instead of =
a plastic handle "weighs 9oz" and feel it is well worth the weight.
As for the coffee, I buy a very robust specialty coffee as it requires less=
bean to make a strong coffee, as well as, using a percolator you can extra=
ct more flavor from a smaller amount of coffee by allowing it to perk for a=
longer time.
This aluminum pot is "very thin" walled and becomes dented, bent, and scrap=
ed easily, but at $8 and light weight who cares. you just get a new one eve=
ry year.

I carry a light aluminum coffee pot with a bail (harder to find but light=
er
that the ones with the plastic handles).
I perk coffee in the morning, and some times in the evening. During the d=
ay
I just leave out the guts(basket) and use it for a tea pot the when I fee=
l
like a pot.
Those coffee bags are even worse than tea bags, not even as good as insta=
nt
coffee,. in my opinion, I just don't like them.
