Lots is sort of different from most of our experiences about this one.  The
folks involved were Hassidic (sp) jewish on retreat in the Catskills at a
cabin complex.  In rapid succession, somebody yelled bear, take kids in the
house, baby is drug out, Dad beats the bear to get it to drop the baby,
sheriffs deputy chases bear and shoots it (I think that's what I've gleaned
from news today).  The whole thing sounds pretty chaotic.

Even if they had a family plan (we have one for fire and reasonably
foreseeable events) I doubt there was a bear plan, but basically I agree with
Shane that the big people need to be the road block in any event that arises.
