You misunderstood me. I was not referring to a sudden change,
much less a recent change (increase or decrease) of ozone
concentration in the Smokies.
What I am referring to is some attribute of the Smokies that causes
them to have -- on a permanent basis -- higher ozone levels than
surrounding regions.
A while back I read a scientific-sounding explanation of why
that was so, but I haven't been able to find that article on the net.
