[at-l] long distance hiking
gradations of Hiking:
1. a walk (to the store, after supper, in the park)
2. day hike (includes a lunch and a snaque)
3. over-night hike (includes a breakfast)
4. week-ender (includes two breakfasts)
5. backpacking (three breakfasts or more)
6. long-distance hiking (seven or more breakfasts)
So far as I'm concerned, anything beyond a week or ten days is "long-distance" for me ...
I've never enjoyed more than 14 days hiking/canoeing ...
I can imagine after completing 4 to 6 months' worth of hiking I'd consider one month rather short,
but, as I said, I've never enjoyed more than two weeks in the woods ...
