I carry the big ones (8 to a pound) and carry and allow for 3 per day for the number of days I'm out. So the most I've carried at one time is about 3 1/2 pounds worth. I have also left them, in the original packaging, in my trunk for up to six weeks (by accident), so I presume they have a pretty good shelf life. Black&blue
