[at-l] 2002 Thru-Hikers Handbook

I wonder how much Amazon's shipping had to do with getting "so many" queries
about the availability of the book; especially from people connected with
the list? I remember a friend telling me about ordering some goodies for a
present in the early days of Net buisness. They queried time and time again
and again. They used several different computers. Finally the company said
they had the item in stock. And they ordered it. Later they got a great
deal on all the merchandise that had not sold. Later they were in the city
where the company had its home (and a store). While shopping there, they
asked about the item. They were told by a "super" that the store no longer
carried it because it had not sold all that well. "Which was strange since
we got so many queries about it by email."
