Seconded. I had it done this past fall. Much of the reason was
outdoorsy activities. I was tired of getting smears of stuff on my
lenses, of getting glasses knocked off my head, of sweat making the
glasses slide down my nose. All you glasses wearers know the drill.
Lack of peripheral vision, fumbling for your glasses when you get
up in the night.. I sure as heck don't miss that.

The turning point for me in making the final decision to get LASIK
was last September. I took a fall on a weekend out in Shenandoah.
When I got home and took a shower, I looked down and couldn't tell
if the big dark mark on my leg was dirt or a bruise. How frustrating!
I couldn't get my head down to within the inch or so of my leg I needed
to see the mark. (Not without falling on my butt in the shower..) It
was the last straw. No more of that for me.
