Umm, to come full circle...  There is Zukes (http://www.zukes.com/) already 
offers Powerbones, canine energy bars.  I know of one thruhiker in '99 who 
bought one without realizing they were for dogs and ate it quite happily.  
They used to be packaged just like Power Bars.
