Re[2]: [at-l] Sense of Wilderness and Town Stops

"..."Many" (most?) people don't have the ability or the mental and emotional
discipline to find "wilderness" without the "crutch" of vast tracts of land.
Some can find it in a blade of grass. Which one lacks understanding?" asks Jim
&/or... in a message that reflects no realistic understanding of the practical
issues involved.

It's easy to say because we can't have WILDERNESS in the lower 48, we should
allow whatever intrusions to the remaining wildness people want to happen. And
we should not seek to preserve and expand what little wildness we have left
because "Some can find it in a blade of grass."

Jim. You and I know that is a
lazy cop out. Ignore the need for all of us to do what we can if you wish. But
don't salve your conscience by claiming it is not worth people's bother.
