[at-l] New: Making a "record" of your hike

I bring small spiral bound note books that will fit a Ziplock bag. I
always carry a pencil as they never freeze or run out of ink. I carry
pens from drug companies to leave at shelters.

For zero days, some sort of entertainment is needed. I don't find
guidebooks entertaining when I can't walk because of weather on the
trail. A good paperback book, particularly something I should have read
in college is my usual companion, and usually left at the last shelter
of my walk.
