Bagels. I've seen hikers eat seriously moldy, like blue/green, bagles so apparently despite the spoilage there are some hikers who will eat it anyway.

Papa, your question is flawed.  I don't think
spoilage is an issue when it comes to thru hiking.
The hikers seem to eat everything they carry,
anything they can catch or find and whatever
they can yogi.  Spoilage just isn't an issue
