[at-l] Buckeye Trail was Racism on or around the AT

Teresa

I know parts of the buckeye trail very well. For those of you who don't
know the
trail, it is an 1100 mile trail that circumnavigates the state of Ohio. You
can find
out more information at http://www.buckeyetrail.org.

I have been training for my thruhike this year on a 24 mile section that is
mostly
single track footpath with some decent hills. This section either borders
the National
Park or is located within the park bounderies. I would have to agree that
the Buckeye
trail has many sections that travel either alongside a rural highway or in
civilization.
Like many other trail organizations, they have had difficulty finding the
money to
re-route these sections to wilder paths. However there are several very
pretty
sections, especially in the southeastern quarter of the state.

then again

YMMV

Jay

P.S. Speaking of trail-related, what do you know about the Buckeye Trail?
Good, bad, indifferent? I had put it on my tentative list of "Things to Do
When I Have the Time and Money to Spend Doing the Things I Want to Do."
(Yes, I will be playing FL Lotto tonight.)
