Gee Felix, I understand that the AMC charter only allows them to pick on
southbounders <g>

Purely by the luck of the draw my stops in the Whites fell at Garfield Sh,
Ethan Pond, The Dungeon, Osgood tentsite, and Imp Sh. I was quite happy
with the Dungeon, not being mentally ready to deal with the zoo upstairs.
It was also in all likelihood warmer with six closely packed hikers...
granted, I had mostly good weather, and I was early enough in the
thru-hiker rush that I could have worked all the huts, but that's the way
it went... so there's at least one way to get through without staying
anyplace other than the dungeon...
It was good to get soup at Mizpah on a cold rainy day, but the only hut I
really had an urge to stay at was Carter, but it was only lunchtime when I
got there....
